Liv Gravil is a weird-thing painter, small thing maker and tentative storyteller. Using the internet as an expansive archive, they gather small clusters of image, fact and narrative.
Their practice has focused variably on subterranean spaces, dark matter, insects, landscape, the machine-eyes of satellites, human exploration, and alien worlds. They like to unearth glitches in the fabric of everyday existence.
Liv’s current body of work, Meteorics, is a collection of drawings, paintings and instructions revolving around underground spaces, dubious reports of things falling from the sky, thresholds between above and below, and the temptation to dig for something that might not be there.
Liv graduated from (BA) Hons Fine Art at Falmouth University in 2020, and now holds a studio at CAST in Helston.
